Christ the King Physical Education
Christ the King Physical Education is based on the definition of physical literacy. Physical literacy is skill development using sports, games and lifetime physical activities. Graduates of a sequential program are able to evaluate their own fitness, set goals, use physical activity knowledge and skills to maintain a health- enhancing physically active lifestyle.
Philosophy of Education
I believe that my role as a physical educator is to facilitate student exploration while strengthening their God- given talents in the physical realm. This is accomplished through a wide variety of fun, challenging and safe activities.
Expectations
Behavior
All students are expected to work hard while maintaining control of their bodies and voices. Students are expected to display good sportsmanship and an attitude consistent with the school’s mission as well as treating all equipment in a safe and respectful manner.
Uniform
Sneakers (preferably not slip-ons) are required along with P.E. uniform shirt, black shorts or track pants for 3-8. Hair pulled back out of the face is strongly preferred for girls with longer hair.

Grading
- K-4 children are graded based on careful observation of behavior, skill development, engagement and effort.
- 5-8 grading will be based on daily self-evaluations with input from the teacher if necessary. These evaluations are averaged at the end of the trimester and translated into a letter grade.
